MilSim is “military simulation”. This term is understood professionally – in the military sector – but MilSim also exists in Airsoft. Here, the aim is to be as realistic as possible. PROJECT GECKO founded by Elirand Feildboy, a former member of the Israeli special forces – offers MilSum training in Germany at its highest level. They use the SIMGUN system. We wanted to know the PROJECT GECKO’s experience using SIMGUN.
Project Gecko chose SIMGUN for it’s sniper training. Why?
PROJECT GECKO: Project Gecko is build on excellence and non compromise And so does SIMGUN. While the idea behind the technology is not new (Miles,Elbit etc) SIMGUN creates a new leading standard which brought a different capabilities and qualities into the current platform and aser simulations at all.
SIMGUN can save a lot of money and in the same time maintains trainings safety. Another part is that SIMGUN has the ability to create a better training & simulation opportunities and solutions.
What are the advantages of SIMGUN?
PROJECT GECKO: The advantages I have encountered so far with SIMGUN are in its weight, use & distance. The SIMGUN has an effective simulation range of up to 1.000 meters. Despite the long distance the system is fully functional even within shity weather conditions. The equipment weight is also a strong point as the entire system (harness, cap & Shooting unit) is extremely light. But what sets the SIMGUN system really aside of all of the similar solutions on the market – is how you use it. The system is so simple and easy to use yet offers a wide spectrum of utilities & functions.
Did SIMGUN work well in the field?
PROJECT GECKO: For us yes. Of course it is important to remark that before going out to the field you should be 100% familiar with the system. Despite weather conditions, elevations or even vegetation between targets – the system did not let us down and performed beyond expectation.
With which „weapons“ was SIMGUN combined?
PROJECT GECKO: During the course we were provided with Airsoft sniper rifles by SIMGUN. The system can be easily adapted and used by air soft platforms.
Would think that SIMGUN is a good system for training & simulations ?
PROJECT GECKO: Definitely. This system can save a lot of money and in the same time maintains trainings safety. Another part is that SIMGUN has the ability to create a better training & simulation opportunities and solutions.
